Using RSS-Browser

RSS browser was written by one of our members and is available for download. (104 Kilobytes) Therefore, St Davids in the Fields is unable to provide technical support for it beyond what is contained in these pages. By downloading it you use it entirely at your own risk. It is provided as a convenience to members who want to keep up to date with our events. But anyone else who may find it useful is welcome to use it.

RSS-Browser is meant as a "light weight" RSS Reader. So it is "crude" by comparison to some other readers. For instance, it does not allow you to place news feeds into categories, only gives one level of bookmarks and does not allow you to access your Internet Explorer "Favourites" (Other than to add pages to it). It's light weight nature will make it ideal for some but not for all!

The program is split into:

Some sites may display a link to an RSS feed, and by clicking and dragging this link over the list of feeds you can add the feed to your list. Such links are often (but not always) indicated by a "RSS" or "XML" marker such as shown at the start of this paragraph. Others might just display the location of the feed in text. In this case select the text, right mouse click, select copy and then drag it over the feed list.

4. Item details

This is a stripped down Internet Explorer! Click on links and you will be taken to those links. A right click on a link or other part of a page has the same effect as it would in Internet Explorer. So you can add pages to favourites, save or even print them.
